Price of Play

You bankroll the group's game shelf. Six rounds. Pick the box your table will actually play.

Every pick gets dealt a real life card: how often the group meets, how long the game stays in rotation, and the occasional event. Your score is cost per play, the price divided by the sessions you actually get. A game that never leaves the shrink wrap costs its full price.

Each round has a benchmark line, roughly what a movie ticket costs. Beat it more often than not and you backed the right boxes.

The math

cost per play = price ÷ (plays per year × years in rotation)

A $249 premium game played four times a year for five years lands near $12 per session. A $20 filler played once costs $20 flat. Price alone tells you almost nothing; frequency and longevity do the real work. It is the same division behind every budget estimate at poketdev.com.
